Unique Elements:

• After our second technical rehearsal, the basement of our theatre flooded with contaminated water. This rendered our costume shop, costume stock, dressing room, green room, dimmer room, recording studio, and faculty offices unusable. Many of the costumes for the production were also damaged.

• Once we are able to safely enter the building and power up our dimmer rack, we had lost 16 hours of tech time. With the help of my colleagues, i was able to add 8 hours back in to the process by pulling our students from some of their classes for tech, while also preserving some stage time for the production team to continue to working on the set and lights.

• The show ultimately opened on time, under-budget, and was well-received by our audiences; most of whom had no idea the flood occurred.

Unique Elements:

• We brought in a sub stage manager for the final weekend of performances

• Unique sculpture style element in the set which wasn’t able to be completed until part way through tech

• Rush sourcing and shipping ETC ColorSource Par fixtures to complete lighting designer’s vision

Unique Elements:

• Entire production moved from 1,000 seat proscenium style theatre to 240 seat black box 3/4 thrust stage at the start of rehearsal period due to massive flood of proscenium theatre. Full show was redesigned to fit our new performance space and performance dates added to accommodate seating our subscribing audience.

• Facilitated putting in two unplanned swings after a cast member broke their foot during performances. Added in rehearsals and coordinated meals.

• Coordinated over hire workers for scenic and costume builds.

Unique Elements:

• This is the first dance concert produced by Otterbein University that was originally conceived by a student and to be choreographed by our Choreography II Class.

• We hired an outside stage manager and alum, Sarah Short to stage manage this production and lead two first year freshmen on their first Assistant Stage Management roles.

• This production required extensive work with shadows. The entire cast of characters had a “shadow'“ version who would dance upstage of the cyc to represent their inner psyche.
